How to Create Picture-in-Picture Photos (Image on Image) on Android

You may have seen on Instagram posts like these and wondered how you can create one yourself.

Depending on your device manufacturer, you can use either built-in tools, or use an app. Apps are often an easier way as they come with pre-designed templates.

Using Built-in Tools (Samsung Galaxy devices):

1) Open Gallery

2) Choose the main photo.

3) Tap Edit.

4) Look for Sticker or Add Image option and select it.

5) Select the second photo to place on top.

6) Resize, crop, or reposition.

7) Save.

Using PicPlayPost App (Free and easy, all devices)

1) Install PicPlayPost (free) - tap to go to the Play Store.

2) Start a new Collage project (choose "Classic" and tap on the star tab)

3) Choose the Picture-in-Picture template (the one with an inner and outer box)

4) Add your background image to the outer box (press "+" on the outer box).

5) Add the second image to the inner box (press "+" on the inner box).

6) Save or Share

Using Canva (Free, a few more steps, all devices)

1) Install Canva (free) - tap to go to the Play Store.

2) Create a new Photo project.

3) Add your background image.

4) Tap "+" then tap "Uploads" then add the second image.

5) Resize and drag it to position

6) Add borders/shadow if desired.

7) Save or Share
